Greetings from London!

Today was our day to be like the queen and head for Windsor.  However, she travels in a Bentley where we arrived in a train car.  It is nonetheless a beautiful little town with an enormous castle!  We had plenty of time to wander the picturesque streets, the interesting shops, and Liz's digs.  No, I didn't get invited to tea and in fact the queen wasn't even there today.  The royal residences are closed to the public (so I can't tell you what monogram is on her towels) but we could tour the state rooms where important people are entertained and official functions held.  Pretty darn impressive!  It was a lovely country getaway in a beautiful area and I can see why it is Elizabeth's fav residence.

Jeanie gave us a bit of an intro to the town and castle before setting us free to explore and return to London as we wished.  It was a lovely day, only marred by the weather.  I suppose I should explain.  I thought Colorado weather was changeable but it has nothing on England.  We woke up to glorious sunshine and warm temperatures for the first time this week so many tour members broke out the fair weather clothing.  The morning was bright and sunny but by 3:00 it was raining steadily.  Most people weren't prepared so ended up either cutting the day short or hanging in a pub for a while, getting to know the locals.  Not necessarily a bad thing!
